    i was rushing was to turn in an essay for class and i put my laptop in my bag and ran. it must of shock or something when it was going into hibernation mode. when i opened it up there was a blue screen crash thing. everything seems to work but is there anything i should check for, maybe errors on hard drive. the cd drive still works put is alot louder then before and vibrates. what should i do? i got this laptop from bestbuy

    I suggest you tighten the screw(s) that hold the ODD in place. I don't see what else could have gotten loose.

    Yeah, it's not a good idea to run with a running laptop in the backpack. You should check the HDD for errors, as a first step use:

    CHKDSK D:/f/x/r (check if any bad sectors)
    CHKDSK E:/f/x/r (check if any bad sectors)
    CHKDSK C:/f/x/r (requires restart, be very careful to check if any bad sectors since the summary only stays on screen for 1-2 seconds before the machine is restarted again)

    and so on all the partitions.

    Also download the HDD manufacturer's HDD test tool and use the SMART test.
