ive had this laptop for a month and i love it
but i took it on an airplane, and noticed its almost impossible to hear dvds through the headphones when there is any kind of background noise

the sound level comming from mp3s and music is fine, but if its going through the dvd player, its at a lower level.
ive boosted it using the software equalizer, and it almost becomes hearable when on airplanes, but even then its too low to be enjoyable

so, am i missing something? if not does anyone know of any 3rd party app that can boost the output?

    thanks!

which software are you using? It could be the software thats running the DVD playback.. try using something else (i.e. PowerDVD, ASUS's own DVD player, Windows Media Player, etc.) and see if that also happens

if your sound is generally fine with headphones and it isnt working when ur watching DVD's then its very likely its a software problem

Buy noise reduction headphones and your problem should be solved.

this is a known issue on the z63a and w3v. you can change the dvd player settings to loud enviroment that helps alittle bit. you can get lower impedence head phones i think that might help. but reall the only solution is getting and maudio usb sound dongle and plug the headphones into that its only 25 bucks. basically its a sound card.
