    Hi,

I recently purchased the m50vm-a1. I'm trying to get 5.1 audio out of the HDMI port but I only get 2 channel audio. Has anybody successfully gotten 5.1 audio out of the HDMI port?

You should double check with your model, but most notebooks' sound cards only support 2.1 audio.

M50 series included unless one outputs audio through SP/DIF

aelthelbert, are you saying I can only get 5.1 sound through the SP/DIF port and not through HDMI?

I confirmed I can get 5.1 audio through SP/DIF port. Still no luck with the HDMI. Anyone successfully tried this?
