i thinking of getting the W7J. i have read somewhere that there is a maximum memory limit of 1.5G, is that true?
personally, with windows vista, I would at least 2G of ram.

the problem is that 512 mb is soldered onto the motherboard. in the past, 2 gb was very, very, very expensive, but with its low prices, it may be possible to go up to 2.5 gb....though some asus notebooks seem to have problems with 2gb sticks....

whats the actual configuration in the machine?
is it 2 slots with 1 slot taken up by a 512mb memory soldered in?

actually on the back of the notebook, there is one slot for your additional memory. the memory that is soldered on is directly on the board, and not visible to the eye.

However, has anyone bothered to try putting a 2GB stick in that slot bringing the total to 2.5gb? Theoretically the chipset should be able to handle up to 4gb.

My plan is to get a 2gb module. But I can't find one that fits into the budget. When I do, I'll get one.
