EDIT: the problem has been fixed. thanks to all those who replied to my original message. i decided to take off the message so it wouldn't tarnish the reputation of an otherwise excellent company.

I'd email them and ask politely to be sent your RAM and a screwdriver for the unnecessary situation. Upgrading it is a breeze.

Tell them you paid for it, and that you expect it, and are disappointed at the situation that it has become. Nothings going to come out of being angry, and based on your tone of writing, I can say that you're pretty calm right now(I hope you aren't ripping your hair off and beating your roommate behind the screen LOL).

I wouldnt email at all, I would find 3 hours of empty time and get someone on the phone and grab their ear explaining that it is imperative they find a solution to the situation they created.....

also make sure that you actually paid for the ram and check your receipt before you might annoy some people

Installing RAM is extremely simple, all you need is a screwdriver. I'd advise what cori suggested, but if worst comes to worst and you need the RAM, you can buy it fairly cheap and install it yourself.

Make sure your dimms are correct too - e.g. if you ordered 2GB of RAM, and they forgot about that upgrade and left 2x512MB in your slots, then you'll want them to send in 2 sticks of 1GB RAM (or 1 stick of 2GB RAM).

That might be a temporary workaround, but if you paid for the stick already, they better send that extra stick of RAM one way or another, or find a way to reimburse/refund you.

My v1s arrived with 1 1gig stick of ram even though the specs stated 2. I contacted the seller and hapilly they sent another indentical 1gig stick which I installed.

Installation is a piece of cake and the users manual has information which is of some use.

Ensure the second stick is exactly the same spec as the original and then it will run in dual channel mode.
