from the past summer until now and probably the near future.. what are the most popular Asus models? meaning, which models are selling very well?

    I'm guessing it's the W3V, Z71V, and the M6 series?

M6 series because it's been out a year a half and last may I know our M6 was featured as one of 5 new dothan models in laptop magazine and on two tech tv shows...... So last May it had been out 6 months and really really started selling very well from that point on.

The Z71v and W3v have sold very well recently as well. We've probably sold more W3v's than Z71v's and the Z71v has sold very very well and was out about twice as long.

The new M6 (z70 series) is starting to do well and as people hear about it it'll probably go right back up there. As far as pure volume though, the W3v was certainly the quickest and most sold laptop we've ever had and I'd have to say the same thing for Asus. More W3's were sold before they hit the shores of the US than Asus could have ever expected in the first month of sales.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Yeah, well last year everyone wanted the higher res widescreen but Asus was saving those screens for the W1.... then Spring came around and everyone wanted a sonoma version of the notebook....... so here we are.

As soon as people realize the Z70v is the update to the M6bne and has the higher res screen and aluminum touchpad surround.... it'll go right back atop the leader board for sure.

    Thanks,

the z70 should start gaining strength, at least i hope it will...seems to be the perfect laptop for those who need a light mobile graphics station if they already have a desktop.

hmm... and I always thought the M5/S5 series sold well. I didn't know the M6 was that popular

    ASUS M6800Ne, P-M 715 (Dothan 1.5), 512MB Ram, Toshiba Combo drive, Samsung Spinpoint M 40G HDD with 8M cache, Mobility Radeon 9700

The S5 is certainly the most popular of all because it's gotten at least the same amount of face time. The only difference is it was getting face time a lot earlier.... this clip is from 2/4/04.....

Even before that this was selling great for Asus and US..... but when you compare that to when the M6 got hot (in May)... it has a few more months to take off.

Then with the rebate and battery promo they ran this year to get rid of the S5n in favor of the new S5a... those sold out a lot faster than they expected. The only problem is the S5a's then took longer than expect. Put both of those together and we were without S5's for what.. a month and a half at least.... so that hurt. Things are starting to pick back up though.
