    Hello.

I am trying to locate a store where I could buy 2nd battery for my asus M000. I know its rather old model, but it suits my needs and its running perfectly from the day I bought it.

The 2nd battery would really help me done my 8h work without shuting it down.

I have done some googling and ebaying but all they sell is the primary battery, help me find a 2nd battery too.

well i took a look around, don't use the menu and do a parts search. Type in the combination of these:

    M6a, M6v, M6N, Z70
I was able to find a bunch of parts even the modular hdd rack, but no 2nd battery. On a good note, you can get a spare z70 8cell battery. I think that fits.

And in all this, take into account the comment of the shelf life, there's a chance that it'll be DOA.

What do you mean by that? DOA?

Isnt spare z70 battery the "normal" battery, not the multibay?

DOA = dead on arrival, because it has spent such a long amount of time in storage.

yes I think the previous poster meant the Z70 main battery. S/he did not find the modular on asus estore.

What I meant was that the z70 battery is an 8-cell, compared to your M6N 6 cell that came stock. In other words, more capacity, if that's what your looking for. ;)

Hm..this Z70 model seems the same as M6 ..what is the difference?

Would it be possible to use Z70 2nd battery in my M6 ?

Too bad I have just replaced my main battery, did not know there is a 8 cell available :(

seems like ASUS has stopped making the Z70/M6 2nd battery and the estore doesn't have it. I've searched all possible combinations on that site.

    This is bad news :(

But at least I have found some 2nd battery for z70 via google. I will contact the salesmen and see what they say about it.

But it would fit into m6, right?

    We still have one:

I think it's 2 years old and the battery cell maybe dead already, if you want to pay for shipping you can have it for free to try.

Good and bad news. Seems that battery is OK!

But the problem is that laptops power consumption went UP. I used to have 18W of power usage, but now its 25W. So because of this I only get 4 hours of battery use :(

Is is possible that the second battery is doing this or anything related to it?

I've heard this mentioned before (increased usage of power when both batteries are in the computer) with a W3J I think. I don't remember if there was any solution... You can try searching though.

Interesting...this is what I noticed today...

While using power from (I presume) 2nd battery the power usage was 25W. But when 2nd battery got empty and only 1st battery powered the system the power usage went back to 18W

Right now only 1st battery is in use since 2nd battery is empty and power usage is only 18W

I did not change anything, I am using my laptop on a desk for entire day now...

Strange...I will test this more thou..

I've found that NHC 2 messes up most battery calculations when I use the modular battery on my V1. Anyone else find that happening?

Well, the V1J messes up batt readings even without the modular one (battery wear problem). The V1S modular even kills the main battery.

So it's unsurprising, what you say. You should watch out for the batteries dying even faster than usual, I'm not saying it's going to happen but keep an eye out.
