To not make any noise, use the mute switch.

To control the volume in fine increments, use the Windows volume slidebar. (from Control Panel)

It doesnt have a volume up/down button on it???

if not it wouldnt be too hard to remap some of those buttons to control the volume.

Well the volume control on ASUS-es is FN+F10 Mute toggle, FN+F11 Volume Down, FN+F12 Volume up.

I think the OP's complaint is that the volume can only be controlled in 10% increments (approximately) so the first non-mute increment is already quite loud.

But the Windows volume slidebar can control the volum with a finer resolution.

ahh i gotcha, i thought he wanted analog control.

There obviously has got to be a way to tell it to move in smaller ammounts but I have no idea.

Actually I kinda do have an idea. If you run your task manager there should be a process for your media keys, analysing that process it should tie to a exe file. From there we can probably find a way to edit it or a file it ties to where you can configure the amount of the volume change.

I also think he wanted an analog volume control, but for the reasons stated in my previous posts. But since there is a software tool that does what he want, analog control isn't necessary (although it would be more comfortable).

yes essentially what i wanted was a "hard slider" something that when a noise comes on and im sitting in class i can just quickly slide down, i know there is programmable buttons on the G1S, is it possible to program the buttons with louder/lower volume?

and Fn+F12 will turn it up

the keys even have little pictures of speakers on em with ^ and v arrows lol

Hmm... so you took the time to post before taking the time to check the keyboard for any signs of volume control. :)

    Interesting.
