    Welcome to the forums!

To have a good set of suggestions on what notebook to buy, you may want to fill in the FAQ in the What Should I Buy forum.

BTW, here at NBR we appreciate if people spell out words and sentences in full ;) Thanks.

Unfortunately, Asus makes little in the under $1000 market. You're going to have to look at Dell, HP, or Acer to find something in that range - Acer may be inexpensive to that level in the European market, where Dell/HP might not be as much.

For the planned use you describe, any budget processor or older Core2Duo (including T2xxx or T5xxx) will do fine. You should be able to find a 15.4" system that meets those specs.

Alternatively, I see the Asus F5 meets your requirements and in the US is priced at $869 - whether it is similar pricing in Europe? The F3 would be good for your use as well, if it met your budget - it's no longer available in the US.

Best media machine is the M50!

You would have to go just a touch over your $1000 budget for the new M50Vm-A1 but it would be so worth it!
