    I always get chiness add to my "Language bar" even if i take if off.

    any ideas?

    Just turn off the language bar in Vista.

    i need to switch between 2 languages,
    something is adding a third language (chiness)

    Go to control panel --> Regional and Language option ---> remove the chinese and set languate to US.

    It's likely going to be a setting in the Registry that keeps putting Chinese back in the language bar after you pull it (that's usually where default settings like these will hide). Unfortunately, I don't know where that would be to direct you to fix it. As long as the notebook doesn't start displaying your text in Pinyin (Chinese) on its own, perhaps you'll need to learn to live with this option appearing in the pulldown menu if you must have dual language support.....

    Mine is doing this also. I restored my Vista to original settings recently. Prior to this, I managed to stop this problem happening. But for some reason now I can't.
