after installing lastest 2 critical update for windows 7, my laptop crashes over and over whenever i play a game. i have g73jh-x1 using 211 bio and lastest ati driver. anybody experienceing this? my gpu temperature didn't even go 80c and it kept getting crashed over and over. and thx to my anti-virus program, i can't do system restore so i had to reinstall OS and it worked fine but as soon as i installed those updates again, it started crashing again. is it just me or is this lastest window 7 critical update just blows?

It crashes when you play games? then its not the updates...

If its freezing... do you have creative installed? If so, get rid of it. If you want to keep it, don't enable bass boost.

You didn't say what happens when your computer crashes. Do you hear noises? Do you get a gray screen? For now, I suggest you remove the latest ati drivers and install 10.1 as they are the most stable. There will be a vbios update soon from asus that will fix the gray screen issues.

battery not charging to 100% is actually common.... its a good idea to discharge it once in a while.

did u already rma it? if so, don't worry about reading the rest....

If you are getting gray screens with bunch of lines, thats the famous gsod. Its caused by your drivers (actually, the bad vbios or both) and not the windows 7 updates. If what you are saying though is true that it gsod only after windows updates (and you are sure it doesn't gsod before updates), then what was the windows update? Was it an optional update? If so, don't bother with it. Only use critical updates. If it was a critical update... then RMA is probably the best choice. I've never heard of anyone on the forum who only gets gsod after a windows 7 update.... It would be funny if all drivers worked without updating windows.
