Have had my s96s for a day now. I'll give some of my intial thoughts.

    t7300 cpu
    2 gigs ram
    geforce 8600m gs
    100 gig 7200 rpm hd

Style- its better then i expected. the look is simple, but nice. it was thinner then i imagined.

build - i dont have alot to reference it to, but it feels just alright. theres some flex in the keyboard, and in the body. this doesnt bother me

heat - the right palm rest gets warm. its not unbearable but its definitely noticeable. my cpu during light tasks hovers around 55c and hd 45c. During gaming its in the lower 70's

lcd - its nice and bright. the viewing angles are a huge improvement over my older laptop. Part of me wants the sxga but the wxga isnt a deal breaker for me

battery - so far im really disappointed in this. its a 6 cell and with brightness all the way down and wireless off, doing light tasks i only get 2:15 on full charge.

Performace - I havent really tested its true abilities yet. I played fear and got an average of 38fps. high was 60 and low 22. Im not a gamer so i dont know if this is what im suppose to get or not. the game seemed to play good so i dont have much complaints, but if these numbers are low i'd like to figure out what i got set wrong

After messing with it more ill give a better review

one more thing, i hate the buttons. I dont know if its because im used to the old laptop, but everytime i drag something or scroll it becomes unclicked. this realy sucks when copy pasting
