i need to find rubber feet for my battery and maybe some extras in case more fall out
i also need a new external cdrom drive for my s5n
while the s5n has been working with no problems at all, the drive broke down on me while i (think) was watching kung fu hustle with it
when i first saw that drive, i knew that it was flimsy and won't last long
anyone have the skills to fix it or know where i can get a replacement
i'm asking this because the warranty has long expired

    thanks

On that unit, the optical drive is only warrantied for a year regardless of what the notebook has, as Asus looks at that as an accessory. Forget that for a moment........ the drive is meant for installing software and thats about it...... it's the size of a cd jewel case and you're not going to get the performance and durability out of it as you would a model 4-5 times it's size.

You could get another one for like $120 or so I think...... but I would truely suggest a larger hard drive and ripping copies of your movies to the drive..... When traveling, I tried taking that drive with me once and I couldn't use it to watch movies.. it was too difficult. Then I took an M5 and yeah that's great, but every ounce counts when you're traveling...... I finally realized the best way to not have to carry an optical drive.... or bring my precious dvds with me to lose or scratch...was to rip them. That uses up less battery life too... so you can look at that as a plus.

What color feet do you need?

i just need that cdrom to do my compulsive reformats
don't really need it for much else
i'm just thinking of popping one of my internal dvd drives into an enclosure
will be a lot cheaper than 120

hmm, what color feet do you have
do you have anything crazy like pink
i have black feet right now btw

    thanks for the reply pro
