    hey guys
im using asus x85 with intel core2duo t6570....its not a centrino platform but i was able to undervolt my processor from 1,150 to 1,000.....to all multipliers and ran orthos for abt 1 hour then measure results with everst
    overall temp was 64c
    with core temp
    i got these results
    core 0....59 c
    core 1....58 c
these results are so satisfying for me....but actually my gpu which is ati 4570 is the prob here.....its idle temp around 58c
but when it runs intensive games like blacksite its temp pop up to 85c within 15 mins....and i got like 85c when running crysis on med/low settings for 1 hour
i was advised to get a cooler.....but i heard here from some f81se users which have exact specifications that cooler wont make a great diff,,only 5 to 7 c lower
    so is this true?
another thing....should i stick to gpu drivers supplied by asus which is bit old....or should i used driverheavn modder with the up to date desktop releases by ati

Your GPU temps are certainly on the safe side. You shouldn't even worry a bit. As for the drivers, you can download the newest ones from ATI's webiste or from DH's website as you've mentioned.

EDIT: I'd just stick with original ATI drivers if I were you. My 2c...

what i meant is my gpu heats up so fast ...even its temprature continues to go up after it reach 85c.....so i just cut off the game so i wont be there watching it exceed 90c

If you've been around for quite a while, you'll know that 85c even 90c is still acceptable. Now anything beyond 95c, I would either look for a cooler or perhaps downclock it a bit.

EDIT: FYI, try not to game in a room with ambient temp above 75f. I'd say stay around ~72f that will keep your GPU temp lower.

I have an ATI4570 in my F6Ve and I must say it reaches that kind of temperatures, at least reportedly (I am still not completely sure that the reported temperatures are accurate). In FurMark I get above 100degC...
