Haha. No idea what I was doing wrong but I went berserk and clicked on the "reset"-button under the mouse like ten times during the initialization when the bluetooth finally found the mouse. It's because of that or that I reinstalled the BT-software from the CD that followed. :D

Overclocked the graphic card to 490/490 and got 4588 in 3DMark05!

seriously..if someone think that notebook speakers will produce sound that will take you on a ride and finish it off with an orgasm, think again. i personally use notebook speakers for..for..oh yeah, when i am on the road and watching a dvd. even on the road i have headphones with me.if it sits on my desk, its plugged into the stereo or my headset.

i really dont see any reason for using them, so i really cant see how the quality of the speakers would make any difference to any direction.

That's awesome! Question though, what were the clocks set to before you overclocked? Meaning, what are the clock rates when it arrives stock?

    Sight..
I have an ASUS A7J--R003H.. 17 inch laptop
and the sound from it is just Amazing
best sound from a laptop I have ever heard.. and I have owned various laptops

each person has its own likings.. you have to respect that
not everyone is using headphones all the time
I use headphones but you get tired after using them for a while

    I also use stereo speakers
    Klipsch promedia 2.1
but you dont always are able to play music loudly..

hence my interest is the laptop speakers

Yes the stock values is 450/450. I gained 4132 (or something like that) before I overclocked with a clean install Windows XP Pro, not from the recovery partition. Have someone undervolted (right word?) the CPU? I have set 11x to 1.075 and run Prime95 for about half an hour without any problem. Should I test longer? Sorry for my bad english, sitting in my bed typing this and now I'm going to sleep... mode. ;)

Oh, so it's NOT underclocked at the factory? I thought I had read others saying their W3Js came with underclocked GPUs.

I guess underclocked X1600 in W3j is just a rumor.

I'm considering getting the A8Jm and I was wondering if any W3J owners have had a problem with the heat vent on the right side of the laptop. Does this bother your right hand while playing games or using it for regular applications? Also, when you overclock the X1600, is there a noticeable increase in the heat coming out?

I haven't noticed a markable difference after I overclocked the graphic card. But, the heat that is coming out from the vent is annoying, but I can live with it. I just have the mouse a couple of centimeters more away from the venthole. :)

Those of you doing fresh xp installs....did the W3J come with a diver cd, or did you get them from the asus website?

Also, is there any word on the quality of the DVD-RW drive? noisy or quiet?

Is the memory clock of 450MHz factoring in double data rate? Which means that the actual clock speed is 225MHz? Or is 450MHz before factoring in DDR, which means the effective clock speed is 900MHz? Thanks.

How can you tell viewing angles from one pic? the only time the viewing angles are a prob is on dark colors not with reg use. when watching dvds and playing games. with white windows open and web browsing you wouldnt notice much.

Its a great laptop the only flaws are bad speakers. and very limited vertical viewing angle.

when you first got your w3j did you drain the battery right away or did you charge it to full first? because i was reading a few articles and it said that you should cycle your battery 2 times when you first use it so that you can achieve full capacity.

just let it charge overnight the first time. it will be fine. after 2 or 3 charges it will be at its best capacity. there really is no perfect science when it comes to these batterys only guesses.
