If you can't find the SATA driver to slipstream XP, the alternative is to set your SATA controller to "Compatible mode" in your BIOS.

my X59sr-a1 doesn't have the option and it has a sata drive, I haven't tried installing XP yet but i think if it doesn't have the option for compatible its probably just the defualt setting, My laptop came with Vista but it was also available with XP and there are no sata drivers to be found on the ASUS site.

have you tried installing XP yet ?

You can just download the latest SATA driver for your chipset from the Intel support website, and slipstream that driver to the CD. Start here for instance: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx?iid=subhdr+downloads

You could also check the ASUS support website (support.asus.com) for SATA drivers for your model.
