    Hi guys,

I found a new W7F dictionary on the Asus ftp server.
Because of the F I think it will probably have the Intel GMA950 graphics,
but at least it is a ray of hope that there will be a W7 series (and maybe the W7J) in the foreseeable future.

Wow does this mean the W7J is coming sooner than was originally thought? I am really liking this laptop; not only does it look good, but it has all the features I want. I looked at the Chinese manual and it has a lot of artwork, including pictures of all the different sides. I hope this comes out sometime in the next few months.

As far as us mortal (non-reseller) forum folks can tell, it's still slated for "Summer release". Sure, we could speculate and drool over the possibility of seeing this beauty in June rather than in August, but who knows? It'll come when it comes. I know users have been clamoring for this to be available in black, and it seems like the North American market will indeed get a black model. :D

Lord_Nemesis, thanks for posting the link. I've noticed that you tend to get very excited when the subject of a W7 line comes up! :p
Awesome that you've been doing some research and the forum can benefit!

    Hi Swatkins,
after I saw some pictures of the W7J from the Cebit (was in march in Germany), like this :D

I knew I must have it. I cannot wait until its release...
I hope it will be available here in Germany, otherwise I have to find a way to import it.

Thanks for posting the pic. In looks like a cross between the W5 and some Sony notebooks... I love it.

If it came in black... it would be one of the most attractive notebooks on the market!

I too am hanging out for this...but given its specs, and the news that asus is making alot of the new 13.3" ibooks which are due in June, my guess is that the w7j will come about the same time or a little latter. Maybe apple have asked for a delay to prevent competition as part of the order??? who knows.
But I would be super surprised to see this real soon.

    Sounds pretty hopeful! :D

I'm honestly not too affected by the white styling of it (though, I'd probably prefer black, given the choice), but the specs and design of this machine look to be really excellent! Highly anticipating this release, along with other next-gen Asus ultraportable/thin&lights.

Lord_Nemesis, does Deutschland currently have Asus notebooks available?

    Yes of course! ;)
Asus has a very diversified offer on notebooks here in Germany.
But here are no barebones available, only pre-configured ones but then a lot of variations of every on.

You can look here for example: click
you have to choose the display size on the left

    Ausgezeichnet, Lord_Nemesis! :p

Based on the selection Germany has compared with North America, it seems reasonable to assume that you will also be able to lay hands on a w7j. Can't know for sure, though.

Probably just too early for any resellers to chime in, eh? Do we know if this will be an ensemble only, or if it will also have a barebones incarnation with the same chassis?

does anyone have any insight into whether the w7j will be produced with a dvi video-out, though it's a 13.3" model?
