hey everyone... I just got a new a8js today with vista home premium. This is my first computer with vista so i'm still getting adjusted.. Anyways, I have formatted all partions into one partion and reinstalled Vista on a clean slate. Updated VGA drivers to a stable tweaked driver..

For the rest, i don't know what to update the drivers for.... All the stuff preloaded with the comp and on the drivers CD... I do not know what is essential and what is pointless. For example, I tried working bluetooth, but i noticed that the drivers are generic microsoft ones... did not work... I also would like to avoid installing norton and all the crap preloaded.

Anyways can someone give me some advice on the essential driver updates i must use to get all the functionality out of my new laptop, such as camera, memory cards, bluetooth, etc.

    Thanks

For the memory card, the RICOH drivers are a must. As well, for the external buttons, the atk and hcontrol drivers are a necessity.

Here's a thread containing all of the drivers you will need.

Also you have the Driver CD, put that into your optical drive and you have pick and choose what to install, you have the choice to check and uncheck certain drivers and etc.

To get bluetooth working properly I suggest getting Toshiba Bluetooth Stack. (google)

    Enjoy your A8js
