I have been waiting (and waiting!) for a notebook screen that is Matte and Bright and was thinking maybe the led-backlight from HP might work. Then I read a guy who was hot for the Asus screens saying that they had all the benefits of non-glare-matte but bright and crisp like a shinny screen.

What do you think? A bright and crisp 15.4 WSXGA running ps2 Fast is my #1 priority. Is there an Asus that will do the trick? Many thanks!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that nearly all ASUS notebooks have glossy screens these days...

The one exception that I know of is the ASUS R1E, which is a tablet PC, and they haven't yet invented a tablet screen that is glossy -- so they had to stick with matte :)

That's right, I think they are all glossy but it's the 'Crystal Shine' and 'Color Shine' as well as some kind of diffuser that is supposed to give it the best-of-both-worlds and better than led-backlight, or so one review said and I'm asking how y'all feel about the screens. Thanks!
