Grab the G50V disc that has the drivers and software on it (seperate from the restore disc myne was blackish) and install that. Might need the ACPI driver or something.

i was happy that after the recovery no drivers and bloatware was installed.. altough it asked me for the driver cd during recovery and copyed smth like hell. i dled all the drivers from the asus page.. shouldnt that be enough? (havent installed them yet as i will get a new hdd tomorrow).

havent found any folder called ACPI on the driver disk :(

and your not going to. DId you install the Intel chipset or ATK drivers? I love how people consider it all bloat ware. Power4gear and the atk buttons after atk is installed can be very useful. ATK is the ACPI driver its under software i think. You can run the installer and only select what u want u know.

Pretty soon people will call webbrowser bloatware and uninstall them lol. Sure u dont need splendid, lifeframe, crap like that.

i installed the intel chipset but not atk i think. But i have it in my driver folder, ready to get installed on the new hdd. i dont rly need power4gear. So i hope that the ATK drivers will solve my problem.. i only downloaded the once which were recommend in davids bloatware thread.

And except power4gear and propably lifeframe, all the programms are sh**.. i used asus data security manager.. now after a hdd crash i backuped all the files with the .aee extension but cant decrypt them anymore.. so thanks to that programm i lost pics/pw´s/keys & serials,... spendid is useless to. i hope i can get my stuff back and decrypt it but so far no one from the asus forum answered to my thread yet..

    back 2 topic ! :p
i will try the atk drivers i downloaded. if it doesnt work i will install power4gear.. if this wont help too, i will run the setup.exe and hope i can deselect 99& of the crap it wants to install :p

Oh and as u seem to know alot here another short question :D
For the bios update (the latest one) i just need to go to bios and run some easyflash button? Read about it today but as i´m downloading 5 gb and dont wanna cancel it, i couldnt reboot yet to check if this is avi in the g50 ios.

I downloaded to a flash card or usb drive and did it in bios. The 213 literally only changes the fact that the CD rom drive cant be seen in DOS. It doesnt do anything else.
