Hi,
I've been in the US just for the summer and I'll be going back to Poland quite soon. But I wanted to buy a notebook here since it looks somewhat cheaper (especially as for really good machines).
I've been thinking about w2v, but then the sound problems goooturned out. Then I've noticed the different system versions (MCE vs. XP) and the remote controls differences (can any of them control the whole sysmtes, id. shutting down etc.?).
At the same time I found another notebook: Acer Aspire 9504 which also contains a microphone which is missing in w2v, more RAM and more HDD space. Anybody heard of it?
I also went to Polish Asus site and found A5 and A7 models which I don't see here in the US (I found PROportable's posts about z83vb, is is it the same?).
I'm looking forward to any pieces of advice and thank you a lot for them,
Chris

The Z83V is the A7. It's not the W2, the W2 is a lot sleeker and a little thinner too, but carries a hefty price tag. The Z83V has a lower res screen than the W2. Here's a bunch of pics of it: http://www.ynot2k.com/products/laptops/z83v/z83v.htm and a review: http://geared2play.com/phpbb/nfphpbb/viewtopic.php?t=344

I don't mind WXGA+ (I think it's enough) and 128 MB video memory. I also don't need a video camera, but if it's there -- OK. However, I have a couple of questions. Will the warranty be valid in Poland like in case of w2v? Does the tv tuner work with Win MCE or are there issues like with w2v? And what about the speakers? The same as in w2v?
And the most important to me. How would you compare it to this one?

I think Acers have international warranties as long as there is a service center there.
