In any case this puppy has been my best laptop purchase ever.....iso good in fact its replaced my desktop and I have a 24" lcd on order to pair up with this baby. Other than some start up quirks everythIng is going great! As for heating issues, I have yet to break 86 after a gaming bender. Hope u get yours soon!

That's still pretty good. I don't think the Xpad creator is being so generous anymore since the new Xpad has been out for some time already. So I guess that explains why.

What's even funnier is my son's birthday is today. But I get the laptop. Then again, he's "only" 8. And don't worry, he gets a birthday party next week. So he'll get all his on "toys" then.

Forge- The reason why I said it the way I did is that to take them swimming requires me to drive about 10 miles to the pool and the class is about an hour. 30mins each child. And wouldn't you know it, I couldn't get them at the same starting time. Oh well. Main thing is the laptop works. crossing fingers. lol.

 

I see it at the UPS in Hawaii since 5:30 and it's still there... Hurry and get on a truck.

Yay. Got the system. 1st thing I noticed is how directional the screen is. you have to be dead center unless you want the colors to wash out either from the top or bottom.
Ran 3dmark06. Crashed. The open something, although it says it installed, didn't. Had to download from the web the updated version. And orb thinks I have a GTX170 vid card. Driver:179.88 stream processors:112 core clock: 500Mhz, Shader clock: 1250, Memory clock 799 Mhz(1598Mhz data rate)

GTX 170m was the name of the card before nVidia <strike>decided to fool us</strike> changed it.

 

How was it that I can tell what LCD make I have, and which screen make is better? I saw it on another post but can't seem to find it.

 

Right click computer -> properties ->　Device manager -> Monitors -> Double click on your monitor (most likely Generic PnP Monitor) -> Details -> Scroll list to Hardware ID

going bed. I'm running the "stock" 8.16.11.8681 drivers. I also found the Extreme Turbo from Asus. Btw, after reboot, it didn't save. And I can't figure out if it's really on. BUT..

And 3dmark says my CPU is @ a 2.154Mhz. Not much of a extreme turbo... I wonder what just turbo mode does.

 

Just a little update. I left the paperwork at work, but if I don't OC the CPU, but OC the GPU to just under normal speed for the card, I was hitting 10k. And in ambient temp of around 25c My max temp using nvidia monitor was 86c. and max cpu was 76c. That sounds pretty good huh?
