okk i just overclocked my gpu using thalanix guide ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=310111&page=12)
    awsome guide btw

ok i have a wierd problem my default clock speed was 625/1550/800
i run furmark at xtreme burn mode for 20 minutes and the max temp was 84 C (i used furmark and hwmonitor to check it)

than i overclocked it to 725/1850/1053
i ran furmark at xtreme burn world for 20 minutes and the max temp was 87 C

so i overclocked it to 749/1800/1053
ran funmark xtrme mode 20 mins and the temp was 86 C

so the max temp decressed instead of incresing how come

i was impressed by how much diffrence overclocking made
i ran video card stability test and the fps was boosted from 206 to 270 fps

than i ran street fighter 4 benchmark i set every thing to max (anti alise and vsync off) before overclocking i had 40 fps
after overclocking i had 62 fps

the windows base score for gaming grapichs changed from 5.6 to 5.7
i was satisfied with my experince

Er... maybe because you also lowered your shader clocks but only increased core by half of what you decreased?

Could also be from the slight extra heat causing the fans to go to a higher speed effectively 'lowering' your temperatures.

mem @ 1053 might not be stable. watch out for artifacts in lighting-intense scenes.
as said above, temp decreased because you raised the core only half of what you lowered the shaders.

i tried every game on 749/1800/1053 with nvidia 186.03 laptop drivers (downloaded from nvidia own website) everything worked good exepct anti alising whenever i turn anti alising on the game quits and i see a message saying "the display driver have recoverd from a crash" or somthing

if it crashes on aa, then the mem clocks are too high. drop them down to 1043 or less. iirc, this is more damaging to the card than high temps.

seriously  i thought it was just some issue wit the new drivers i was bout to reinstall 86.03 and get 79 or somthing stable.

    edit
so i downclocked my gpu to 740/1800/1040 and m having the same issue (i realy think its caused by the drivers and not by mem clocks) but u know more than me
ohh i forgot to mention this problem only happen when i turn aa on in Street fighter 4 and crysis other games work fine with aa on like Mirrors edge, Fuel virtua tenis 2009 and transformer 2

LOL, as we found out thanks to nvidia guru the Core and Shader are on a 2.5x multiplier. The further out of sync these two are the more unstable the overclock is.

For every 1Mhz you increase the Core you increase the core 2.5 Mhz. So say 750 Mhz Core (which is extreme dude) should be matched with a 1875 Shader. 740 should be matched with 1850, 1800 will be less stable.

My best stable overclock was 640 1600 @ 1.15 i never mess with the memory.

the mem chips are only rated for 2GHz (2048MHz). i wouldnt suggest going too much over that limit (keep in mind its GDDR3, multiply the bios clock by 2).

as for the ratio, 725/1800 is stable for me. ill try 1850/742 if i can figure out how to make pure silence in wav's again.

corrected. but 1000MHz in the bios is still the theoretical limit for the mem chips.

Does it mean that faster mem chips are not possible or they are just not produced for notebooks yet? Excuse my ignorance.

there are faster/different chips (the 4860 was supposed to have some 5GHz quimoda chips iirc), just the ones on my 9700M were rated for 2GHz
