    got a broken hinge cover, can I buy the parts from asus?

    also, is there anywhere I can buy the special usb cable that connect the dvd/cdrw to s5n? that cable has 10w - 5v and usb...

    I bought the U-2408D which come with usb cable and firewire cable but no that special cable....

    Wow, you must have gotten quite a deal on that if it came with a broken hinge, missing cables and no original battery!

    Drop me an email....... I've got all of the case parts for you if you need them.

    The USB cable..... doesn't really work well with that unit that you got... The unit you got is the normal package for that little cd burner...... you're honestly better off using the cables that came with the unit. Technically its' the same drive as the one that comes with the S5... but I've heard of plenty of people who went out and did what you did and then having problems with that little usb cord..... something about the connection on the cd drive itself... not holding tight. Otherwise, someone might want to trade you becasue I know other people who leave this drive at home would love to just have a longer usb cable and be able to plug it in to a wall outlet instead of the computer.

    So ask around!

    yeah, I did get a very good deal on it, it came with a different external cdrom which it can just power it off itself with a single usb cable, but the style is way off than the s5n one, so I can't just buy that s5n propeitory usb cable??

    Yeah, I could probably get the cable too... just don't usually carry those... where as I have tons of all of the case parts.
