places to buy s96j

well i just fell in love with the s96j, as it seems to be the cheepest notebook with a x1600, which means i can afford to put a decent yonah in. also i tend to trust asus more then other companies. however istnc does not offer them, so where is a well priced, trustworthy place to buy this notebook, i prefer a company that will let me get a semi barebones, as most places offer fair processor and wifi prices, but overcharge for ram, hardrive and OS(i can get xp pro for 72 bucks through my college)

Hope this helps, i'm not sure exactly on which ones have the S96, i do suggest waiting just a little more, if you want, the Z96 is coming out with a higher res screen and with internal bluetooth if you want.

Let me narrow the list for you, since all the ASUS resellers dont seem to be carrying the S96J. These are just the resellers I've seen or heard of that are selling the S96J right now.

www.geared2play.com <--- Good ratings on resellerratings, and Eddie seems like a cool guy, he definitely keeps it real.

www.gentechpc.com <--- Good ratings on resellerratings. As far as I know they offer the cheapest price on the S96J, if you buy components from them.

www.mwave.com <--- Uhh... go with one of the 2 listed above.

I've checked proportable, powernotebooks, discountlaptops, and c9tech, which I believe to be all great asus resellers, and none of them say they have the s96j on their website. but, tomorrow's monday, maybe things will change by then.

 

rjtech.com also has it.

 

thanks, the first one made me feel a bit dumb for not checking the stickies, but the other ones were really helpful,i had already checked geared2play which scared me at first, until i looked around at the customer reports, and this website and realized how good the place was, im currently checking gentech pc. I dealt with mwave when i built my desktop(before i found newegg), and they were ok, but rather overpriced and i dont think id wanto get a whole system through them. thanks for the help

I'd highly recommend them both... GenTech PC has awesome service... I've never even purchased something from them and they're so willing to help me. Just imagine how they'd treat their actual customers!
Eddie @ Geared2Play is also great... he may have an awkward sense of humour from time to time, but he's a good guy who runs a good business.
