According to the power adapter for my M6Ne, it outputs 19V and 3.42A. Not sure if this helps you at all, and I've never tried it on an aeroplane.

I just picked up another Targus PAPWR300U and it works with my M6Ne using tip # 115 (bundled in the package). Powered up fine in the car anyway, and also off AC. I've yet to fly on an airline with power at the seat, so no idea there.

Pretty much as I expected, it's the same tip that Thinkpads use, and the Asus power brick looks like the same that Thinkpads use, so it's all good.

Which IBM model did you find was comparable in power tip to the ASUS M6N? I have an iJuice power brick that does multiple notebook (and PDA, cameras and cellphones)based on the tip used. It is the OEM for the same Kensington power supply found in stores like Radio Shack. They will likely list the IBM model but not the ASUS. It also can get power from cars or air.

FYI some planes actually have regular AC power outlets. Recently I took an Air Canada flight (I think Airbus 319/320 series) in economy and there was a 120V AC power outlet in my row of 3 seats (shared in the row).
