    Guys,

I got a problem. I just had the W7J just a week, great machine. I love it. But only problem I have is that sometimes it 'cuts off'. Does anybody else has that sort of problem?

I got a feeling it might be cooling. Tonight gonna trouble shoot with Eddie and see if there's a solution for it but I got a feeling I might have to send it back to him for repairs.

by "cuts off"... do you mean that it crashes and reboots randomly? If so, it sounds like you probably have some bad RAM... although anything is possible. It's usually rare to see overheating problems because these CPUs can reach temps of over 100 before getting damaged/unstable...

Do you get a BSOD? Even if it is just for a second and you can't read it? If so, you can change a setting to keep that screen up, which can be invaluable to finding your problem. I don't remember off the top of my head how to change that, but if you think it will help, I or someone else can help.

Nope, I don't get the even the blue screen of death or the shutdown stuff. I just turns off... after that I try to restart it and it turns off even before the windows logon window shows up.

I am not pissed at the seller since its not their fault, just bad luck.

I'd take a look at both your battery, power supply and then I'd start looking at software. I'd either go back and do a restore to new or reformat and reinstall... if it's not the power, it's probably software. If all else fails, you're best resolution to the problem would be to call Asus and have them take a look at it.

Return it to where you purchased and get another one. Why bother screwing around with a new machine that is likely faulty.

Well I send an email requesting RMA to BTOTech. I am pretty sure is the motherboard now, when I press the power button it turns off right away. I don't get to even see the Asus logo screen.

Sounds like there is a short somewhere on the motherboard or power supply... definitely RMA worthy.
