    problem with my g1s when restarting or shutting down

    so i just recently did a clean install of vista on my lappy and i must say it runs a lot better now :)
    but now ive run into this weird problem where every time i restart or shut down my computer itll go into that windows update screen and says that its "configuring updates part 2 of 3" and then when i start it up it says "configuring updates part 3 of 3" even though my computer is up to date and i haven't installed any windows updates during the time that it was on!
    any help at all is appreciated, thank you!

    Somebody reported this same issue with an M50 the other day....

    If you've been online at all lately, Vista probably pulled an automatic update in the background and is trying to install it. Something isn't finishing if you're getting this message repeatedly (2, then 3). If you've let it completely run through the 3 of 3 and then it starts again from 2, you can try to go back to a recent Restore point and see if that helps.... you can also set the updates to notify rather than automatic download and install, which will allow you a measure of control over future updates.
