His English is ok, A little heavy accent tho. Once he found out I'm chinese we spoke in mandarin instead.

Great services tho. My W7J has no problems so far :).

Milestone is great... Although, when I buy, I'm going to buy from NCIX because they're closer. The reason I like Milestone is that they always have the best CDN price which NCIX has to match! Thanks Milestone ;)

I need to get a new notebook before school starts back up (mid august), and MilestonePC appears to be the only company with the W3J instock. For those of you who have had personal experience, or know anything about the company, how has been your experience with them and do they have a good reputation?

I ordered my S96J from NCIX. I just have to warn you that although they ship out your order fast, their customer service is terrible. They pretty much refuse to help you, or at least they did for me.

I think MilestonePC is listed as CanadaSys on ResellerRatings, but they only have a couple of ratings (and one of them is rather low). This is probably because they were only a Canadian company until recently, and most people on ResellerRatings are from the U.S. Anyway, my experience with MilestonePC was excellent. Danny was very prompt at answering questions and very fair about lowering prices to match competition, even on orders that had already been placed!

Got my W7J through MilestonePC. Dealt with them mostly through email and they (specifically Danny) answered my questions promptly. Got a phone call from Danny when the W7J arrived in their stores informing me of this. Got my W7J 2 weeks ago and it's been great. The only thing was that they forgot to include the Targus bag that was supposed to come with the W7J for those on the preorder list, but when I informed Danny through email about this, he promptly replied that they would ship it out. Still haven't received it yet, but Canada Post isn't the quickest in my experience, so I'm not worried about it. I'd rate my experience with MilestonePC as good and I wouldn't hesitate to deal with them again

Is there any (US) local retail stores that sell Asus W3J? Most of the companies that do sell them seem to do business online/phone but I would love to see it in real person. I've been lurking these forum for a while and not sure where to get a good deal because $1800 is a bit too much. Add sales tax & shipping turns it into a huge amount :/ Are there any discounts that I should be aware of? :) Thanks.

ASUS doesn't sell in large retail stores.

Check the ASUS FAQ to see a list of local dealers and phone/email to see if they have a demo in store.

Asus sets the pricing for the Ensemble models like the W3j, so $1799 is pretty much going to be the price everywhere. You don't have sales tax unless you purchase from a store that has a storefront in your state; so all you have is shipping, and this is usually $35 or so. There are no discounts for the W3j, although occasionally Asus will offer rebates for models that they're trying to clear out; this likely won't happen for the W3j, however, since it's one of their hottest selling models right now.

If $1800 is too much, consider other 14" models like the A8Jm at $1439 (MilestonePC), the W7j (13.3") at $1499. You could also consider one of the BuiltOn Asus models (i.e. Z96j or S96j @15.4", Z62j @ 14") - you can usually configure one of these with comparable components for less than the W3.

Thanks for the quick reply. Heh, didn't know about the storefront before; thought I had to dish out another $150 for tax. So places like SONY still take tax even if you order online? I will look into other models as well but what you mean by configure? Reducing/changing the specs of the W3J to cost less?

I'm also a bit concern with the weight. Is 5.5lbs a lot when lugging it around to class everyday for college? Add adapters and other stuff, seems a lot. How are other models when it comes to gaming like Doom 3? Got to be a huge difference if there is a $400 gap, heh. I heard that ASUS will be coming out with a new model with merom in like 2 months? If price difference isn't a lot, is it better to wait? Planning to have it last at least 4 years so hoping it doesn't become too outdated by then. (ex. people using core duo while I still have celeron)

I just got my W3J from MilestonePC and i HIGHLY recomend them. Not only did Danny call me personally to verify my order and make sure I was satisfied but he also e-mailed me with updates and answers to my questions within hours of the my e-mail going out. He also customized my system at my request (not just what size HD i wanted but the exact model i requested!).

Again, Danny is a great guy and is VERY friendly, i cant recomend MilestonePC enough.

Between the customer service, the pricing, and the quality of service, they really are a win-win company.

My experience with MilestonePc has been ok so far. Though it is kind of my fault. We had a payment problem and i had to get my card limit raised. Danny called me personally to let me know this (nice guy, but i had a little trouble understanding him). The next day i sent my payment to milestonpc's paypal account but i didn't get a status change e-mail or any notification, but little did i know danny was out of town, so i can't really complain. I finally got a hold of someone today and they notified me that my W3J is ready to be picked up by ups, so i hope things go well :).

I had a good experience with MilestonePC. Email Danny a couple time before buying. He answered promptly. Order my W3J on the Monday and had my computer on hand on the Friday with the spec I asked. Great service!!! OH, and I just love my machine :)))

Does he communicate well and friendly in English though?

I bought at CanadaSys, but the representative there didn't speak very good English. So I got a good price, but not much service. As I knew what I wanted, and was purchasing a system with given specs as opposed to building a custom system, it was fine because we didn't need to discuss much. But I think the CanadaSys/MilestonePC good preachings are a little skewed in that the service was not in English but in asian languages.

Anyone have any good English-speaking praise for the company?

Danny's english is just fine as long as u arent somewhere noisy. At work i had trouble making everything out but then again i would have had trouble making out a english linguistics speech out over the phone at that point. Danny's skill with english are just fine and he communicates well enough that it is not a issue at ALL as far as support goes.

I spoke English with him and corresponded in English, haven't had any problems.

I'd also recommend MilestonePC, got my A8Jm from them, and have been satisfied with it up till now.
