I posted this in the "upgrade" section as well but i thought i'd post it here too.
Basically, I don't like the look and feel of vista, but i hear that asus doesn't really provide drivers fro xp for this laptop, can anyone confirm this? Also what else should i do to it to optimize performance w/o lagging the graphics down? Any help appreciated.

Switch to classic theme in vista.

Check THIS thread for XP 32bit drivers. 64bit XP drivers are rare and even if they are available, most of them are poorly written and rarely updated. If you insist on having XP, stick with the 32 bit; otherwise, vista 64 would be your next best choice.

I would reconmend Vista x64 for this laptop and use classic theme if you don't like the Vista theme. Remember also to turn of UAC from user accounts.

COuld you help me with something? I'm thinking of ordering this laptop also, but I need to know how it performs under stress. Could you run Furmark Stability Test for me and log the GPU temp and tell me how high it gets. Furmark can be found from here:

Could you use Windows 7 (still in beta though)?
