questions regarding using the w2jb

this notebook has tons of multimedia feature. BUT i have no clue how to use them. The user manual doesn't say **** about how to go about using the features. There is a few questions that I have about using this computer

Multimedia Questions
1) Is it even possible to watch dvd, cd, or anything without booting windows?
2) How do i use the remote controller? I tried pointing at the laptop and start clicking away but nothing works
3) How do i use the TV tuner card. Specially how do i watch tv? record?
4) It says it can broadcast. How do I do that if it is possible where i live?

General Questions
1) THis comp is really quite hot. What are some programs to monitor the CPU temp and the vid card temp? The laptop is so quiet that it doesn't sound like the fan is on, even tho its on full load playing graphic intensive games.
2) where are the intake vents for this notebook? There doesn't seem to be any slots at the bottom for air to get in.

 

you can play cds with out booting i believe if it has audio dj i forget if it does. Not dvds

2. only the silver MCE remote works with Media center. You must plug the USB reciever in and the remote will work.
3.You attach the antena cable to the side of the laptop the flap the goes down the connecter is in there. plug the analog cable line into the antena and launch media center. go to tv and set it up.
4.what do you mean by broadcast?

1. laptops get hot especially at full load thats normal. if you dont want it to lower the cpu speed. the w2j is actually a cooler running laptop than most. I know i had a w2v.

 

2. Don't think there is an intake vent... just an exhaust.

 

it doesn't run that hot for me, just the exhust vent on the right side blowing hot air out and it is VERY quiet, except for the dvd drive, that thing can get loud when spinning!

 

um yeah same with my friends w2j, its not that hot, maybe some canned air will help!
