for the stickers on teh front of the laptop (left of the touch pad with the specs and a tiny barcode stating global warranty 24 months + right of the touch pad with a picture the "high resolution swivel webcam"), are they removable? or would removing the one with the tiny barcode void the warranty?

hmm....i was wondering the same thing before too... I dun think removing the specs will cause any warranty void because all the bar codes will be on the inside of the laptop at their respective components (CPU , motherboard etc). But I jsut leave it there... if you want a clean look you might as well rip the Nvidia and Core2duo stickers off too imo

The stickers have nothing to do with the warranty coverage - it's a marketing tool to post it on the sticker, nothing more. The only way to void warranty is to muck around inside the chassis and break the internal warranty seals on the CPU or any others inside; well, that or drop it on the floor and break something :).

There are plenty of threads around here talking about the pros/cons of removing the stickers from the plastic, and how to do it effectively.

I suggest you remove the sticker with the barcode, but stick it in an agenda somewhere so that you have it.

Remove stickers ASAP, on plastic the difference in color will be seen if you delay it more than a week or two.

Don't remove the small stickers (Intel/WinXP) those are difficult and might leave traces.
