Okay, I've been having the battery light staying on - and the battery at an eternal 93% charging state.

I asked Asus tech support what I should do (I'm guessing I'll be getting another battery soon) - and the advice from them -

    Recalibrate the battery.

I know what recalibration is, so it seems like useless advice.

    Huh! What do you think?

It works in many cases, why do you think it's useless?

Recalibration, as I understand it, is used when the battery is getting old - the system - not the battery - is told a new "100%" level.

This makes no sense to do in a case where the battery is charging to different rates (including 100%) but the light doesn't go out.

I also don't want to recalibrate a battery that is 4 months old. It holds its charge.

If someone tells me otherwise, with a sensible explanation, I'll try it. However, at the moment, I'm dubious.
