I am currently on the fence of whether to get the G51J or the Sager NP8690... I love Asus, but the Sager is a fine machine... I would prefer a 17" but the current 17" Asus seems the be lacking compared the these two 15.6" machines... I have searched and am talking to Ken at Gentech right now about this... Has anyone else heard any rumors of a new 17" Asus G.... I couldn't find anything... I apologize if its staring me in the face... I just couldn't see it...

The newest 17" from Asus that is part of the G series would be the G72GX

I'm looking for a replacement to that one... with an i7 and DDR3 system RAM along with possibly the 280M

Thats why I said the current one seems to be lacking compared to the G51J... everything except cooling seems to be superior on the smaller laptop...

The Asus equiv to the Alienware is nearly the same specs for about $800 less
