There seems to be a problem resuming from stand by with my new u6vc. I don't think it is an isolated incident since the screen remains black/dark if I keep the laptop stand by. Any idea what is up?

Press Fn + F6 next time u have a black screen
-
do you mean fn+f7? I did and it still didn't work. f6 is the brightness
-
Yeah.... i know - that worked for me all the time... increase brightness after resuming from windows will bring back the screen.
Anyhow, if that didn't work, then try install another graphics driver (preferably, a newer driver from laptopvideo2go. -
that is quite annoying if i have to do that after every standby... why can't it just work the way it is supposed to! ill try the next time i go stand by
-
most of the 18x _desktop_ drivers from lv2g dont work with laptop sleep. i think only 182.05/6 have been reported as working.
-
i dont understand what you just said.. thalanix. which one should I get instead?!
-
182.06 or 179.48.
(if you can trade working sleep for a few more 3dmarks, then stick with 185.20) -
is resuming from sleep a problem that occurs with other notebooks too?
-
with 18x drivers most likely. 185.20 doesn't come out of sleep on mine.
-
how much do these drivers differ from the ones offered on the nvidia website?
-
179.48 are the most recent notebook ones from nvidia ( http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook_drivers.html) and 182.06 ( http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp64_182.06_whql.html) the most recent for the desktop branch.
the only difference (not counting replacing the inf with pieter's modded one) is that lv2g remove physx to save space. -
thanks!
on a side note, do you know how well my laptop can play sim city 4? I just have a great urge to build a gigantic city...
and how about spore??
9300 series -
i just connected the laptop to an external monitor. all the colors seem really washed out on it (previously connecting with z70v it was perfect no complaints).
I don't know how to adjust the options to make it look "normal" though... -
