One of the rubber feet has fallen off the bottom of my laptop (M5), and is making it unsteady on the table, which is annoying when I'm typing. I've created a similar one from a bit of foam tape, but it's not quite the right size/shape/consistency, so it still wobbles a bit, and it's not as nice looking (and likely to come out again fairly easily!). Is this the sort of thing that could be bought as replacement accessories? Or would the shops be likely to have a few extra of that sort of thing from old laptops?

If you call Asus or someone like Pro Portable, I'm sure they can ship you a few for minimal cost.

I would just go to the nearest home depot with your notebook and find someone who can help you get a piece of adhesive backed rubber that you can cut out yourself. Nobody ever sees this piece anyway, so as long as it sticks to the unit who cares if it is not the perfect size and shape?

I will be a lot cheaper.

Yeah... or you can shoot me an email... I can send a rubber foot first class mail for you... I don't think you can beat 37 cents.

cheers. I'll check with a couple of shops here and see if I can locate any, otherwise I might be in touch. Good to know that it is possible to get them separately!

I have tried making a foam one myself, but it's not quite the same shape (the hole isnt' exaclty square, and it's hard to get it the right depth as the foam is more compressible. Plus I like things to match! but yes, for now, that is my soloution...)

Hey Justin, quick question....I've got the S5N and I notice when I type on it, the lcd monitor shakes a lot....is there a way to tighten the lcd hinges to stop it from shacking? I not sure how to open up the lcd monitor to get to the hinges. Any help would be appreciated.

It shouldn't.... but recently I've seen some notebooks whose hinges get one hell of a workout.. So, either you're typing really hard, or you've started to wear out the hinges.... I don't know, but it shouldn't do that... However, I don't know how much it's shaking either.

Haha, but seriously Justin, you've been a great help to all of us here in this forum. It'd be a shame if PROportable didn't recognize this...[ :D]
