    hey all,

i'm pretty set on getting this z63a (thanks to all the info on this kickass forum), but just wanted to throw this one out in case i overlook it, but it should be relatively painless to install xp os on the z63a hard drive, right?

if anybody has already done this, please input. i'm just wondering if i'm gonna need the setup boot disc like u would in a desktop (this is my first laptop btw). no floppy drive on laptop so how does one go by this? have to format (fdisk?) hard drive before install, etc etc...

If you have a Windows setup disc, then you'll have no problem formating the hard drive during setup.

Just set the BIOS to boot CD first... and the rest is easy.

The Windows install CD is a bootable CD... you don't need floppy boot disks nowadays....

It's as easy as installing on anything else. No problems were encountered when I installed it.

You may want to consider using nLite from http://www.nliteos.com/nlite.html to create your own installation CD including patches and updates to Windows plus the latest versions of the drivers for the Z63A. It makes the installation process much easier.

It is very easy step after installation of Windows, then install all the drivers one by one. I always install the drivers without restart the windows, then save some times for rebooting.
