Do you have any software installed for the mouse, such as Logitech's SetPoint? I know in SetPoint you can control the sensitivity of the mouse and touchpad seperately, which would help solve your problem (if this is a logitech bluetooth mouse).

yeah, setpoint won't work with the Toshiba stack .. you'll need to install the Microsoft stack to get it working properly.

Do you want to set your mouse speed slower than your touchpad speed?

You can use this application called MouseSwitcher

    http://www.mouseswitcher.com

It will allow you to set 2 custom mouse speeds, one for your touchpad and one for your bluetooth mouse.

Not sure if that is exactly the problem you're having, hopefully it will help.

It would be nice if I did have to manually switch whenever I want to switch between mouse and touchpad.

I don't see why we can't have sensitivity functions built within the touchpad settings, indepedent of OS sensitivity, much like how in Vista, you are able to control sound levels for different applications.
