    Hi,

Two years ago i bought the Asus G1S-B2 (T7700, GF 8600GT 256mb) and enjoyed it so far with no problems. Now it's time to move on. I was considering the N81Vp-D2, the Dell SXPS 1340, and the Toshiba U500.

I think I will eventually go with the N81. However, I wish to consult with you guys if the 399$ it takes to add the P9700 over the T9600 is worth it or not.

I know they have the same specs except power consumption and Temps, so can you estimate if the battery-life gained due to the p9700 is worth the extra 399?...

another thing - is there an illuminated keyboard for this model?

the battery life gained is DEFINITELY not worth the extra 399. you'd be better off (by and far) by getting an extra or bigger battery, for half the price of the upgrade.
