    Alright gentlemen,
I have been researching for laptops recently and i have reached a bottleneck! its either going to be acer aspire 2012 or asus. My budget, sub 2000.

What do you all suggest? If ASUS then which model?

I will be mainly working on web development, that means the most powerful software i will be using is photoshop. And ofcourse few dvds and games over the weekends.

    Thanks in advance

I think ASUS is worth a look. As for which model, not sure will need a bit more info off you. Is size weight/problem a problem? And what kind of games will you be playing?
Having said that since you are looking at the ACER 2012 I would suggest looking at the ASUS M6 series which is quite similar. The main advantage that ASUS has over ACER is a 2 year international warranty, and the ability to config you laptop to your requirements.
As your planning on lots of photoshop I would suggest stocking up on as much RAM as you can get.

Well basically, I will be carrying it around on campus almost everyday. Games, nothing more 3d-ier than warcraft 3 i guess.

I am in Dubai on vacations, i will be returning back to U.S. sometime at the end of this month. The ASUS deal I am getting here on M6B is as such...

    15.4 inch monitor
    1.5 Ghz Centrino
    1 GB Ram
    Dvd/cd-rw
    64 mb ATI 9600
    40 GB HDD
    2 yr International Warranty

all for around 1580 US Dollars

I don't know how much the same specs will cost me in U.S. though.

On the other hand I am also considering Acer 2012 WLMi and Fujitsu-siemens Amilo M 1420, here are the specs for amilo...

    15.0 monitor
    1.7 dothan
    512 ram
    60 gb Hdd
    dvd+RW
    1 yr international warranty

all for almost 1650 U.S. Dollars

So, I am really stranded now!

    Any suggestions?

    thanks!

As you are carrying it around all day I would go for the lightest notebook out of the bunch, I know the ASUS is a bit lighter then the ACER but I not sure about the weight of the Fujitsu. The specs of the Fujitsu look a bit better so if it weighs less then the ASUS, I would go the Fujitsu.
