I have an Asus A8js.... it has the flash card reader built in.... one thing i find very annoying is that it is very very slow......the whole system slows down like hell when a file is being transfered... am i just the only one experiencing this?
do other modesl have the same problem? I'm using windows vista... dont know if XP will be the same or not......

Maybe that's just Vista slow file transfer problem. Do you have the same problem with regular hdd file transfer?

Are you sure it's not the flash card itself? I have tried downloading from an SD card on an A8He and didn't notice any significant slowdown.

You should try with at least another card before blaming it on the reader.

Hmm... besides updating drivers I don't know what else you could do.

You could also boot into Linux and try using the card (assuming Linux has drivers for it). Use a live Linux like Knoppix or Slax. If it works fine there, it's clearly a software problem. If not, and if you are using SDcards regularly, then you might consider sending it into service to have the card reader (or rather, the mainboard) replaced. But it's probably not worth this much trouble.
