Whats the speed difference between SSD Vs a 7200rpm hybrid? is it significant enough to sacrifice space for?

"hybrid" is a joke imo, a G2 Intel X-25 80GB SSD can be had for $150 and that's plenty for your OS (15sec boots) and more than a few apps, then use your 500+GB mechanical HDD for storage.

    Check it out yourself-

Difference is pretty significant. If you can live with a smaller capacity drive, then SSD would probably be best. If $ isn't much of an issue, then small capacities shouldn't be an issue since 500+GB SSDs can now be purchased (though personally I don't think it's worth it).

SSD's performance is amazing, but unfortunately the price tag is still very hefty.

I remember I was shopping for an SSD literally almost 3 years ago, but back then decided to wait for the price to drop. Fast forward to today, I finally went to check out the price.... It was expensive back then, and still expensive now. As a developer I have to install a lot of stuff on my computer, and would never be able to fit everything in less than 150GB. So SSD is still a no go for me.
