I've had my Asus W5f for a couple days now and I want to start clean and fresh and delete all of the information..Then reinstall XP and the other cds that came with the laptop. Can you do this? will it be hard? Don't really know where to start if possible. I want to get it to the condition when I first received it.

You can do it by reformatting if you have original install disks

    READ UP THOUGH

I didn't and i suffered for it. Only took a day to fix though.

It's really easy, the discs pretty much guide you through. All you need to do is to boot the notebook with disc 1, and follow the instructions.

I really want to do it. I'm just afraid I'll mess it up.

You can't really, just follow the directions.

The worse thing that could happen is a corrupt install...which can easily be resolved by another reinstall :p

Here's a Guide on how to do what you asked, written nicely by EBE.
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=81828

Read it through, understand it, and then start following the part where you will want to use the Recovery Discs and then install Windows using it and then install the drivers once Windows is loaded.

Takes 40 minutes or so for the Installation of Windows. Another 40 minutes for Drivers and then your ready to install the programs you want.

I did it. All I had to do was press F9 on the Asus start up screen and follow the instructions. I didn't even have to use the Recovery CD's. For me, it took about 10minutes altogether! Thank-you!
