Every time I boot up my f8sv I get this error "media test failure, check cable"

It can still fully boot but that error concerns me.

Anyone ever have this problem?

Everything in Device Manager look ok? Have you plugged in external media cables of any sort?

nope haven't connected anything to it

    everything seems ok

o i forgot to mention that b4 the error comes up theres something about gigabyte Ethernet but that doesn't seem to make sense to me since Ethernet has nothing to do with a media test...so i dunno...

you bios is set to boot network then hard disk simply go into you bios change you boot order to go cdrom hard disk

The screen you see is your machine try boot for pxe server

Ie Remote install server for install xp or load stuff across network the reason it fail is they no media plug in also no pxe server

Probably what it is, but is this at POST when you turn on your notebook or in windows and related to some program you've installed looking for some device?

It looks like it's at POST time. I agree with the boot from LAN theory, that's probably it.
