How do I monitor my w3j's temperature? and also what are safe temperature limits? I'm in a dorm room right now and I don't have air conditioning. It's not ungodly hot but its warm and I know this w3j heats up at my house where its like 68 degrees on my lap very quickly. I just want to make sure I protect this investment.
    any pointers?

okay question number one anwsered. Now is there a safe limit I should be watching for? Will the computer shut down itself if it gets "dangerously" hot?

Basically normal for me is that it goes up and down between 51-58 deg, and when I push it, it can get in the upper 60's although I did have it at work one day and we didn't have any aircon, the ambient temp was around 90deg (34Celcius), there was hot air pumping out the side but I was impressed, had it hooked up to a dell CRT external mouse and keyboard, sorting out an image database, the temp was maintained around 68deg if you would attempt the same with a MPB in those conditions, it would get extremly hot.

When gaming, if the CPU is at 80-85 degrees, then its normal, as is with the GPU.

mine is sittng at lke 56-65 (C) which is like 140 (F) but I mean... I don't have air conditioning what the heck am i supposed to do about it o_O. I can't buy an air conditioner ethier, against dorm policy.

I don't really mind it being that hot, but I just want to make sure I don't fry anything.

how much do cooling pads help?

BTW I'm running the puter in quiet office mode.

In an air conditioned room mine sits between 51-58 deg when i am just puttering around, so yours is well within normal.

With A8Jc my CPU idle temperatures are 29-32C and stress temperatures 45C. And processor is Core Solo T1300. GPU (GF7300go) gets 50C in stress.

No, it's perfectly fine for CPU temps to go even 70 - 80C on continuous full load, especially in something so small and powerful like the W3J..... over 90C then you should start worrying... but even then the CPU will shut itself down before doing any permanent damage I think..

Because most of the programs report in Celcius, all of the temperatures reported so far look to be in Celcius. mine was.

    140 (F) or 60 (C) is normal
