great question! i can tell you that the barebone z71v and m3np do NOT come with one  . I think the m6 comes with one (although it's an old model and is being phased out with the z70 series).

Z70a and v and also the Z63a come with the travelers drawer. Lets say it's about a $30 option on the others. We don't stock those drawers because honestly it's better to get a 2nd hard drive kit. That kit is basically the travelers drawer that also comes with the screws and connection to install a hard drive in the drawer.

Do you sell just the screws and the connection or can you get that just about anywhere? Is it just normal molex and ata? Or some other special kind...

it's "normal" but they're actually slightly different on every one of the systems....... the placement is slightly different depending on where the connection is located..

Can't sell it seperately, as it comes to us in the little package....

I wish asus could keep a standard like Dell. My z71v for instance has EXACTLY the same battery as my m3np, but they changed a couple plastic tabs so they can't be interchanged. It would decrease production cost and make customers so much happier if there were only 1 or 2 optical drives (slim and super slim) one kind of battery, etc. I wouldn't mind if this z71v had a biefier battery, it's a bigger laptop, but they didn't bother. Anyway, i'll stop bickering :decision:

Right, but do you know how how motherboard sets need to change based on chipsets, location of different things...... size and all this...... That's why clips and things are in different spots..... it's impossible sometimes for them to make them exactly the same. I know what you're saying, but sometimes certain things have to move. They don't do it for their health.
