You have to install the drivers for the mouse. When it's looking for the INF, usually it's asking for the driver CD. Usual steps for installing USB devices, is to install the drivers first and then connect the device.

Since Logitech is making that mouse (at least mine), you can download drivers from their site. I think any driver for standard mouse (wheel, no cordless) would do, like this one:

    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/DE/EN,CRID=1792,contentid=5266

    Grujicd,

I don't know if Acud's mouse is a logitech mouse (could be wrong). The one you linked to is part of their S series optical mice (I believe).

    Acud,
Is this a Logitech mouse? If not, since your mouse came with a CD, the drivers are most likely located on that CD. When the system asks for the INF file, point it to the CD and it should scan the entire CD for the correct drivers. If not, try checking the CD to see if they have a driver folder and install the driver manually.

    Good Luck!

Perhaps it was not clear, I know that mouse is built by logitech because I also own that notebook. It has small logitech logo on bottom side. Since it's usually same hardware, I guess any driver for single-wheel, optical, corded logitech mouse would do. Don't know for sure because Win XP SP1 I use didn't ask for additional driver.
