I would like to flash a new BIOS to an U53JC, but neither the Winflash tool nor the built-in flash tool allows me to do it, because there is a typo in the BIOS, as it says model number is "U53Jc", while the flash file says "U53JC".

Is there any way to force the flash without checking model numbers? There should be some DOS utility with a /force switch, I hope.

I would try renaming the bios file from U53JcAS.211 to U53JCAS.211, see if that works.

In my experience, Asus can be picky about the bios file names.

Actually it turned out that it was not just a typo, but they linked the U35JC file in the Hungarian language Asus download page for the U53JC (and I haven't realised the 53-35 swap.) So downloading the BIOS from the English site (which is much more up to date btw) solved it.
