i just got my u36s from gentech, and yeah, i like it, but i am trying to install win 7 64x professional using usb (cuz there is no DVD drive on this version, and i got no usb dvd drive). i made an all in 1 64x win 7 installation onto my usb, i boot with the usb, got up to select language and keyboard stuff, but then it show up a windows about loading driver of cd/dvd drive, and can't find it.. i don't know what to do. can't seem to continue pass this step
the full message:"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now."

    help please......

    hey dartz003

did you manage to do it?

I,m running into the same issue. this laptop came with cd drivers. my guess would be putting those drivers "as is" in the usb key from wich i,m booting and when it asks for drivers.. just browse to them..

    thanks for sharing info

i fixed it, not sure which of those was the problem, but here is what i changed that may have fix it.

i had the drivers stuff in a folder of the windows usb (which i put in to attempt what u suggest) removed
re-download the windows installation using another mirror
use the 2.0 usb port instead of the 3.0
i am not sure which of those cured it :D

You can not use the USB 3.0 port until windows is installed... Reason for this, is because USB 3.0 is not loded in the BIOS, its not legacy..

Remember way back in the day when 3.5 floppy were legacy, and USB and CD rom were not... Well if not then never mind me showing my age.

Also i tried the USB win7 install on my G73SW and my U36JC through the 3.0 port. i won't work..
