Like many of you, I'm kind of stuck on whether or not to buy the ul30vt or the ul30jt. And now there's the u35jc to consider (no optical drive, long battery life, dedicated graphics, 13"). Because the only intensive thing I will use my laptop for is gaming, I've been looking around for benchmarks on the laptops (3dmark06). It seems like they score like this:
ul30vt - 3200 ~ 3400
ul30jt - 3200 ~ 3400
u35jc - ~3700
I stumbled across this guide on overclocking the 210m inside the ul30vt / ul80vt:
Asus UL80VT/UL30VT Overclocking Guide (Nvidia 210M) Expert Laptop Review
which puts the 3dmark06 score up to around 3900-4000. From the comments, the ul30vt's seem to run a good 30c less than the 80vt stock. Assuming you have a stable, and somewhat conservative OC, do you guys think there would be any long run problems? Especially if the similar hardware in the 80vt is running much hotter stock?

30C? My GPU maxes out in the high 60's and CPU in the 50's. What is the UL30 running at?

30c less than the 80vt
There were only a few posts in it from users with the 80vt, but they recorded it running at 90-100c stock.

Anyone? I've seen a bit on how to overlock it and that people have done it, but nothing about long term problems/ issues. Anyone that's had it OC'd for a while without problems?
